Select Your Rotary Screw Air Compressor
Lubricated rotary screw air compressors are used every day across the world in a wide variety of applications, from the small 2 kW model you may find in a garage or workshop, up to large 250 kW models where multiple machines used together can power a whole factory production line. Critical tasks like air tools, packaging, welding along with many other factory processes rely on compressed air & these models can generate the onsite air you need, on demand, when & where it's needed, each installation is sized according to your production needs.
You can read more about the technology used in these compressors here, or the different applications they serve here.

Why choose a rotary screw compressor?
One of the main benefits of choosing a screw compressor is that, in comparison with piston compressors, there are no valves or other mechanical forces that can cause the compressor to become unbalanced. This allows a screw compressor to provide quality air at high operational speeds with a larger flow rate, without compromising on compact design!
Aside from premium energy efficiency, some other reasons to choose a screw compressor include:
- Reduced Maintenance - as there are no pistons, rings, rods or other parts that require regular servicing, the screw compressor is a very low maintenance option.
- Low Noise and Low Vibration - this is due to the reduction of moving parts and its small size compared to other compressor technologies.
- No Duty Cycle - can provide continuous air supply with no ill effect to the compressor.
What are the benefits of a lubricated compressor?
- Full automation via the Delcos Controller
- the right amount of grease at exactly the right time
- no manual intervention required
- No downtime
- Fast, easy, cost-effective maintenance
- Replacement of the cartridge takes place during the service at 4000h or 8000h
- Longer life expectancy as rotors rarely need to be replaced
- Covered by Assure warranty (For units commissioned from 01/01/2019)
Compression capabilities
CompAir's rotary screw range operates between 4kw to 250 kW (5 to 335hp), producing working pressure at 5 bar to 13 bar (72 to 188psi).
Fixed versus variable speed drives
Our range of injected screw compressors are available with fixed or variable speed drives. The benefits of both depend on the unique demand of your business. Fixed speed compressors run continuously, regardless of demand and are very efficient when operating at 100% capacity. Variable speed compressors are able to increase or decrease the output according to demand, only using the required energy to provide the appropriate flow to produce compressed air.
When choosing a rotary air compressor you should always consider your operation demand. A variable speed drive can offer amazing energy efficiencies which translate into cost savings, however, if your application has a constant demand, a fixed speed compressor may offer you better results.
Intelligent design
We know that the screw compression element is the heart of the compressor and therefore CompAir keeps the design and manufacture in-house, using the latest CNC rotor grinding machinery, coupled with online laser technology, to achieve fantastic results.
Furthermore, our premium airends have been specifically designed by expert engineers at the Simmern Centre of Excellence who are continuously endeavouring to improve compressor efficiency. Our specialists have optimised the design to ensure a low rotational speed, reducing energy costs and improving reliability.
Applications and uses
Screw compressors are often used to supply vast amounts of compressed air to large industrial applications. The advanced technology allows the compressor to run continuously, providing a large output of high-quality air flow, perfect for demanding applications.
Typical types of applications:
- Food, Beverage and Brewing
Product handling, food filling machines, fluid pumps and air knives. - Military
Operate pneumatic targets, operate simulators, clean tank cannons. - Aerospace and Automotive
Type inflation, product finishing, air operated robots, plasma cutting and welding and paint shop applications. - Industrial
Air operated tools, shot blasting, cleaning, lifting equipment and cooling and heating. - Electronic
PCB board cleaning and pick and place machines. - Manufacturing
Construction, spray finishing equipment, air hoists and tools. - Petrochemical
Process air, control valves and cylinders, material handling and nitrogen generation. - Medical and Pharmaceutical
Air knives, vacuum packaging, fluid pumps and process air.
Aftermarket
Keep your screw air compressor running at peak performance with genuine spare parts, accessories and OEM compressor oil from CompAir's specialist Aftermarket business. We are dedicated to delivering products and services to maintain your compressor system with an extensive distributor network who can support you, around the clock.
The above airends in these oil lubricated air compressors can be driven by either a fixed or regulated speed (RS) motor, airflows range from 0.24 m²/min to 47 m²/min and power outputs from 2.2 kW to 250 kW. Regulated speed compressors can efficiently and reliably handle the varying air demands found in most plant air systems, achieving energy savings of up to 25%.
All models from 15 kW can be equipped with integrated heat recovery, to help recover the energy lost in heat.
